Practice for Psychotherapy

Welcome

We offer psychotherapy for adults in difficult life situations and with mental illnesses. The Whinyates Practice is staffed by experienced psychotherapists with a wide range of qualifications and expertise. In addition to psychotherapy, we offer supervision and self-awareness training for psychotherapists in training.

We specialize in psychotherapy for mothers and parents during pregnancy, birth and parental leave.

Our Methodology

Life circumstances or illnesses can lead to psychological crises from which you may not be able to find a way out on your own. In psychotherapy, we reflect on your life situation with you in order to understand it and develop new ways of coping with it. For this, it is important to us that you find trust in order to open up and address personally difficult topics.

The Therapy Process

The initial consultation

In the initial consultation, it is about getting to know each other and gaining an overview of your concerns. In addition to your medical history and biography, we will work out your concerns and wishes for therapy, and we will provide you with an outlook on the therapy and the therapeutic methods. Afterwards, you can decide whether you would like to accept the offer.

Making an appointment

You will be referred by your general practitioner or a specialist in psychiatry and psychotherapy, and you can schedule an initial consultation via email or phone.

You can also get a referral from your gynaecologist.

Clarification and information

During the first sessions, diagnostics are carried out using scientifically validated questionnaires, and a possible diagnosis is made. In addition, we will explore your medical history and personal biography to identify concerns and difficulties, as well as to shed light on underlying personality patterns. At the same time, trust is being built, and you decide whether you feel secure enough for a process of change. In the course of therapy, new perspectives will be developed and behavioral changes will be tested. For us, it's not just about change, but also about reactivating strengths and new ways of thinking. This process forms the main part of psychotherapy.

The final phase

In psychotherapy, the focus is on working towards changing your life design. Once you feel empowered to take control of your life again in a self-determined way, the therapy will be concluded.
